Bangladesh’s stocks see uptrend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a positive trend in the early hours on Wednesday maintaining the previous session’s trend.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) rose 16.84 points or 0.51 per cent within first 15 minutes of trading to stand at 3,671.59 points at 10.45am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 89 advanced, 6 declined and 7 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at only BDT 115 million till the report was filed at 10.45am.

United Airways topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 45 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a positive note and the Selective Category Index of the CSE gained 35.84 points or 0.51 per cent to stand at 6,965 points also at 10.45am.

Of the issues traded then, only 39 advanced, 6 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
