Bangladesh’s stocks see upward trend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Share prices at the country’s both bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with optimistic mood in early hours of trading on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

The DSE general index, DGEN stands at 4,382 points after gaining 32 points or 0.74 per cent within first half an hour of trading at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 160 advanced, 14 declined and 20 remained unchanged.

Turnover stood at BDT 775 million till the report was filed at 11am.

United Airways topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 54 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange key index, CSCX gained 62 points or 0.73 per cent to stand at 8,525 points also at 11am. Of the issues traded then, 70 advanced, 12 declined and 10 remained unchanged till then.
