Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-After beginning the day with positive note, Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed nosedive at midday on Thursday.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bouse of Bangladesh,  and the Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, plunged after nearly two hours of trading, on the last session of the week.
Key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange dipped 4.94 points while the selective catagory index of Chittagong Stock Exchange shedded 5.01 points when this report was updated around 12:30pm.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After nearly two hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange stood at 4,574.43 points shedding 4.94 points or 0.11 per cent around 12:30pm.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also went down 0.22 points or 0.01 per cent to reach at 1,730.62.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 1.40 points or 0.13 per cent to reach at 1,095.78.
Turnover on DSE stands at BDT 2.894 billion when the report was updated around 12:30pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 109 advanced, 131 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged.
The Khulna Power Company Ltd was remained the most traded stocks with shares BDT 128.58 million changing hands followed by Shahjibazar Power Co Ltd, Square Pharma, IFAD Autos, ACI and Samorita Hospital.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw negative trend after more than two hours of trading as its Selective Category Index – CSCX – dipped 5.01 points to stand at 8,507.91 at 12:38pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 73 gained, 83 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 123.08 million.
