Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks fell for the seventh running session on Monday with turnover improved slightly as the investors desperately opted for selling shares.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DGEN) ended at 3,617.35 points, shedding 3.54 points or 0.09 per cent.

The DSEX went down by 9.72 points or 0.28 per cent to close at 3,444.80. The DS30 also declined 5.60 points or 0.43 per cent to close at 1,282.41.

The turnover at DSE stood at BDT 1.34 billion, improved 19.64 per cent from previous session’s 3-month lowest value.

Of the 276 traded issues on the prime bourse, 139 advanced, 105 declined and 32 remained unchanged.

RN Spinning was the most traded stocks for the consecutive two sessions with shares worth BDT 79.87 million changing hands.

Rahim Textile was the day’s highest gainer, posting a rise of 10 per cent while BD Thai was the day’s worst loser, slumping by 16.78 per cent following its price adjustment after record date.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also declined with the Selective Categories Index lost 30.64 points to close at 6,789.03 points.

Losers beat gainers 68 to 82 with 20 issues remaining unchanged on the port city bourse that traded 5.34 million shares and mutual fund units on a value of BDT 157.86 million.
