Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the negative trend at midday on Tuesday as investors remained on selling mood on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous three days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw downward trend while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend in early trading amid low trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse fell more than 3.0 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 23 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX fell more than 8.0 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 7.28 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX fell more than 20 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index lost 72 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,569 points, losing 20.54 points or 0.36 percent at 12noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also lost 7.13 points to reach at 1952 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) shed 1.04 points to stand at 1,273 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.06 billion when the report was filed at 12noon.
Khulna Power was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 418 million changing hands, followed by Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company BDT 144 million, BBS Cables BDT 130 million, Nahee Aluminum BDT 121 million and National Housing Finance BDT 105 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 96 advanced, 165 declined and 53 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw negative trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – losing 72 points to stand at 17,131 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also fell 43 points to reach at 10,375 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 55 gained, 110 declined and 23 issues remained unchanged with BDT 100 million in turnover.
