Bangladesh’s stocks stay negative at midday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks kept the early hour’s negative trend at midday on Sunday amid slow trend as the cautious investors remained on selling spree.
After 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse fell 3.02 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost 1.93 points when the report was filing at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX came down at 5,578.90, losing 7.84 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost 9.41 points at 11:00am.
At 12:00 noon, the maintained the downward trend and DSEX went down by 12.12 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse fell 21.93 points when the report was filing.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After one and a half hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,574.62 points, losing 12.12 points or 0.21 per cent when the report was filing at 12:00 noon.
The two other indices also saw negative trend till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips fell 5.69 points or 0.28 per cent to reach at 2,015.24 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also fell 1.71 points or 0.13 per cent to reach at 1,302.31 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.79 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Ratanpur Steel Re-rolling Mills dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 258 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Baraka Power BDT 206 million, LankaBangla Finance BDT 181 million, Pacific Denims BDT 117 million and Shasha Denims BDT 76 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 104 advanced, 37 and 61 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw negative trend till then as its Selective Category Index – CSCX –losing 21.93 points to stand at 10,470.55 points, also at 12:00 noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 58 gained, 106 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged with BDT 170 million in turnover.
