Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Monday as investors continued their buying appetite on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous three days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed marginally higher amid low trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse gained more than 7.0 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 4.0 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 15 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 11 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 5.0 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 27 points at 12noon, when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,244 points, gaining 5.60 points or 0.10 percent at 12noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 0.05 points to reach at 1,852 points till then.
However, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 3.36 points to stand at 1,208 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.57 billion when the report was filed at 12noon.
Saiham Textile was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 166 million changing hands, closely followed by Khulna Power Company BDT 158 million, Dragon Sweater BDT 106 million, Saiham Cotton Mills Tk 93 million, and Nurani Dyeing BDT 89 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 150 advanced, 111 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city’s bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advancing 27 points to stand at 16,116 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 18 points to reach at 9,764 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 82 gained, 60 declined and 27 issues remained unchanged with BDT 86 million in turnover.
