Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Thursday as some investors remained active on sector-wise issues.

Following the previous five days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend amid low trading activities.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 24 point while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 89 points at 10:45am.

After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 17 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 98 points at 11:00am.

After that the market started to slow down.

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced nearly 3.0 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index fell 2.73 points at 12:00 noon when the report was filed.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,258 points, advancing 2.80 points or 0.05 percent at 12:00 noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 2.22 points to reach at 1,845 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 0.22 points to stand at 1,210 points till then.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.42 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Square Pharma was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 96 million changing hands, closely followed by Al-Haj Textile, United Power, United Power, JMI Syringes, and Meghna Life Insurance.

Of the issues traded till then, 133 advanced, 117 declined and 66 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
However, the port city’s bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE), saw negative trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse–losing 2.73 points to stand at 16,156 points, also at 12:00 noon.

The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also fell 2.32 points to reach at 9,776 points till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 74 gained, 66 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with BDT 729 million in turnover.
