Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the positive trend at midday on Tuesday as investors continued their buying appetite on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous five days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on positive note amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 22 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 38 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX rose more than 34 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 55 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 36 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index rose 91 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,299 points, advancing 36.75 points or 0.70 percent at 12noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose 8.44 points to reach at 1880 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 10 points to stand at 1,251 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.06 billion when the report was filed at 12noon.
United Power was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 166 million changing hands, closely followed by Saiham Textile BDT 164 million, Simtex Industries BDT 131 million, Fortune Shoes BDT 127 million and BBS Cables BDT 121 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 193 advanced, 78 declined and 39 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse gaining 91 points to stand at 16,306, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also rose 60 points to reach at 9,867 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 104 gained, 46 declined and 22 issues remained unchanged with BDT 86 million in turnover.
