Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks kept the early hour’s positive trend at midday on Wednesday as the optimistic investors remained active on sector specific issues.
After previous two days’ mild correction, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 16.76 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 26.95 points when the report was filing at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX reached at 5631 points, advancing 19 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 35 points at 11:00am.
At 12:00 noon, the maintained the positive trend and DSEX went up by 12.87 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 42.85 points when the report was filing.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After one and a half hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,625.57 points, advancing 12.87 points or 0.22 per cent when the report was filing at 12:00 noon.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips gained 5.47 points or 0.27 per cent to reach at 2,031.30 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 5.19 points or 0.39 per cent to reach at 1,310.82 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.83 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Beximco dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 267 million changing hands till then, followed by Active Fine BDT 157 million, Pacific Denims BDT 156 million, Far Chemicals BDT 139 million and Islami Bank BDT 135 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 134 advanced, 110 and 63 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend till then as its Selective Category Index – CSCX –advancing 42.85 points to stand at 10,576 points, also at 12:00 noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 100 gained, 55 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with BDT 202 million in turnover.
