Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in positive trend at midday Thursday as some investors continued their buying appetite on sector-wise issues amid ongoing earnings and dividend declaration session.

Following the previous day’s mild correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive amid rising participation of investors.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced nearly 10 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 14 points at 10:45am.

After first hour of trading, DSEX rose nearly 22 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 30 points at 11:30am.

After 90 minutes of trading, it slowed down somewhat and DSEX advanced more than 12 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 10 points when the report was filed at 12noon.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,038 points, advancing 12.28 points or 0.20 percent at 12noon.

Two other indices also saw positive till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 7.81 points or 0.36 percent to reach at 2,186 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 3.55 points or 0.26 percent to reach at 1,331 points.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.31 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.

IFAD Autos dominated the turnover chart till then with shares of BDT 380 million changing hands, followed by IDLC Finance BDT 95 million, LankaBangla Finance BDT 90 million, BD Finance BDT 88 million and Aamra Networks BDT 85 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 116 advanced, 133 declined and 59 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:

The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 10 points to stand at 11,318 points, also at 12noon.

Of the issues traded till then, 59 gained, 82 declined and 20 issues remained unchanged with BDT 70 in turnover.
