Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in positive trend at midday on Wednesday amid modest volatility as investors continued to take position on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous two days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive amid slow trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 13 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 32 points at 10:45am.
After that it started to decline. After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX fell more than 6.0 points. However, CSE All Shares Price Index stayed positive trend till then with gaining 14 points at 11:00am.
However, the market rebounded as the session progressed. After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced nearly 20 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index rose 37 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,292 points, advancing 20 points or 0.32 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 5.13 points or 0.22 percent to reach at 2,260 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 0.52 point or 0.03 percent to reach at 1,382 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.66 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Shahjalal Islami Bank was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 221 million changing hands, closely followed by National Tubes BDT 172 million, Golden Harvest Agro Industries BDT 99 million, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation BDT 75 million and Confidence Cement BDT 74 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 160 advanced, 90 declined and 61 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of – gaining 37 points to stand at 19,452 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also rose 24 points to reach at 11,776 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 96 gained, 59 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged with BDT 145 million in turnover.
