Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the positive trend at midday on Tuesday amid modest volatility as optimistic investors continued to take position on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous two days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 21 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 27 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX rose more than 23 points while CSE All Shares Price Index gained 42 points at 11:00am.
However, it started to decline since then and eroded most of the early gains. After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 5.0 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 1.58 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,268 points, advancing 5.27 points or 0.08 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 11.52 points or 0.51 percent to reach at 2,278 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 3.04 points or 0.22 percent to reach at 1,390 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.12 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
BATBC was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 448 million changing hands, closely followed by Paramount Textile BDT 139 million, GP BDT 103 million, BD Thai BDT 102 million and Nurani Dyeing BDT 89 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 134 advanced, 130 declined and 66 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of – advancing 1.58 points to stand at 19,398 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also advanced 3.44 points to reach at 11,739 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 85 gained, 78 declined and 33 issues remained unchanged with BDT 136 million in turnover.
