Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in positive territory at midday on Monday as some optimistic investors are active on sector-wise stocks ahead of Eid festival.

Following the previous three days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early trading amid low participation of investors.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced nearly 9.0 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost 3.78 points at 10:15am.

After first 30 minutes of trading, DSEX rose more than 23 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 3.70 points at 11:00am

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced nearly 22 points, while the Selective

Category Index of port city bourse rose 55 points when the report was filed at 12noon.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,841 points, advancing 21.90 points or 0.37 percent at 12:00 noon.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also gained 3.57 points or 0.17 percent to reach at 2102 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also stayed positive zone till then, advancing 1.31 points or 0.10 percent to reach at 1,302 points.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.74 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.

BBS Cables led the turnover chart till then with shares worth BDT 241 million changing hands, followed by Keya Cosmetics BDT 182 million, Ratanpur Steels BDT 118 million, Familytex BDT 76 million and Uttara Bank BDT 70 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 144 advanced, 101 declined and 63 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:

The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) retuned to upward trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX –advancing 55 points to stand at 10,982 points, also at 12noon.

Of the issues traded till then, 83 gained, 64 declined and 33 issues remained unchanged with BDT 128 in turnover.
