Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Monday as some investors continued their buying appetite on sector specific stocks.
After facing mild correction in the previous day, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend amid cautious trading.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced nearly 5.24 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 3.76 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced 10.32 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 10.15 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced 7.32 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 10.80 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,783 points, advancing 7.32 points or 0.12 percent at 12:00 noon.
The two other indices also stayed positive till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 4.84 points or 0.23 percent to reach at 2126 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also stayed positive zone, advancing 0.26 points or 0.02 percent to reach at 1,312 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.10 billion, when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
LankaBangla Finance was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 182 million changing hands, closely followed by IFAD Autos BDT 156 million, Shahjibazar Power BDT 85 million, Square Pharma BDT 75 million and City Bank BDT 73 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 143 advanced, 97 declined and 70 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 10.80 points to stand at 10,835 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 87 gained, 56 declined and 32 issues remained unchanged with BDT 105 in turnover.
