Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Thursday as investors continued their buying appetite on sector specific stocks amid optimism.
Following the previous three days’ rising trend, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened optimistic.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 30 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 35 points at 10:15am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced 28 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 37 points at 10:30am. Since then it slowed down as the session progressed.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced 4.21 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 15 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,829 points, advancing 4.21 points or 0.07 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also stayed positive till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 3.26 points or 0.15 percent to reach at 2135 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also stayed positive zone, advancing 1.37 points or 0.10 percent to reach at 1,318 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.68 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Mercantile Bank led the turnover chart till then with shares of BDT 188 million changing hands, closely followed by LankaBangla Finance BDT 143 million, GP BDT 110 million, Premier Bank BDT 100 million and IDLC Finance BDT 76 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 115 advanced, 127 declined and 72 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 15 points to stand at 10,921 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 76 gained, 92 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged with BDT 120 in turnover.
