Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the positive trend at midday on Tuesday as optimistic investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.

Following the previous four days’ gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early trading with increasing trading activities.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 23 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 24 points at 10:45am.

After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX gained more than 15 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 10 points at 11:00am.

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than nearly 25 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 73 points at 12noon when the report was filed.


DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,904 points, advancing 24.92 points or 0.42 percent at 12noon.

The two other indices also saw positive note till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 5.82 points or 0.26 percent to reach at 2,213 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 5.68 points or 0.42 percent to stand at 1,368 points.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.04 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.

Beximco was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 325 million changing hands, followed by Keya Cosmetics BDT 272 million, BRAC Bank BDT 122 million, Alif Manufacturing Company BDT 105 million and Generation Next fashion BDT 97 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 193 advanced, 82 declined and 45 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.


The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advancing 73 points to stand at 18,228 points, also at 12noon.

The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 42 points to reach at 11,016 points till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 97 gained, 48 declined and 23 issues remained unchanged with BDT 270 million in turnover.
