Bangladesh’s stocks stay positive at midday Tuesday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks stayed on the positive trend at midday on Tuesday as investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.

Following the previous six days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on positive note amid low trading activities.

Within first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced nearly 12 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 16 points at 10:30am.

After first hour of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 26 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 17 points at 11:00am.

After two hours of trading, DSEX advanced more than 32 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 65 points at 12noon when the report was filed.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,346 points, advancing 32.52 points at 12noon.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 8.40 points or 0.42 percent to reach at 1,981 points till then.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 8.34 points to stand at 1,243 points till then.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.83 billion, when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.

Shasha Denims was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 102 million changing hands, closely followed by Alif Industries BDT 101 million, BD Autocars BDT 91 million, Beximco BDT 88 million and Khulna Power Company BDT 70 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 172 advanced, 82 declined and 60 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:

The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse –advanced 65 points to stand at 16,436 points, also at 12noon.

The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 41 points to reach at 9,942 points till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 84 gained, 51 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged with BDT 61 million in turnover.
