Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks kept the positive trend at midday on Wednesday as investors continued their buying spree on sector specific shares.
Maintaining the previous two days’ upturn, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive with rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced nearly 14 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 15 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, DSEX gained 6.73 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 20 points at 11:00am when the report was filed.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced nearly 11 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 22 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After one and a half hours of the trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,771 points, advancing 10.93 points or 0.18 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips rose 2.52 points or 0.12 percent to reach at 2117 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 0.46 points or 0.03 percent to reach at 1,315 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 4.33 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Baraka Power was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 286 million changing hands, followed Paramount Textile BDT 187 million, Fu-Wang Food BDT 152 million, LankaBangla BDT 144 million and Brac Bank BDT 142 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 147 advanced, 111 declined and 51 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 22 points to stand at 10,817 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 107 gained, 66 declined and 35 issues remained unchanged with BDT 225 million in turnover.
