Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the positive trend at midday on Wednesday amid modest volatility as optimistic investors continued to take position on sector-wise large-cap stocks.
Following the previous day’s positive trend, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid low trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 15 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse rose 17 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX rose more than 13 points while CSE All Shares Price Index gained 20 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 10 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 46 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,297 points, advancing 10.10 points or 0.16 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 4.10 points or 0.18 percent to reach at 2,282 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 4.50 points or 0.32 percent to reach at 1,395 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.13 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Square Pharmaceuticals was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 195 million changing hands, closely followed by Premier Cement BDT 131 million, Golden Harvest Agro BDT 87 million, BD Thai BDT 86 million and Zaheen Spinning BDT 60 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 92 advanced, 65 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of – advancing 46 points to stand at 19,514 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also advanced 24 points to reach at 11,807 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 92 gained, 65 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged with BDT 88 million in turnover.
