Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks kept its upward trend at midday on Sunday as investors continued their buying binge on sector specific large-cap stocks.
After reaching the premier bourse’s core index record high in the previous session, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid increasing turnover.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse rose 21 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 25 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, DSEX nearly 27 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 26 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced 20.71 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 36 points when the report was filed at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,855 points, advanced 20.71 points or 0.35 percent at 12noon.
Two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 5.25 points or 0.24 percent to reach at 2136 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 2.41 points or 0.18 percent to reach at 1,329 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 5.46 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
IFAD Autos was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 469 million changing hands, closely followed Generation Next Fashions BDT 269 million, Keya Cosmetics BDT 265 million United Power BDT 260 million and Confidence Cement BDT 222 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 171 advanced, 82 declined and 63 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) stayed in positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 36 points to stand at 10,975 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 114 gained, 62 declined and 37 issues remained unchanged with BDT 316 million in turnover.
