Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks kept the upward trend at midday on Tuesday as investors continued their buying spree on sector specific shares.
Following the previous day’s sharp gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher with rising turnover activities.
After first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced nearly 18 points while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse rose 13 points at 10:45am.
Within 30 minutes of trading, DSEX rose more than 18 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 15 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced 20 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 44 points when the report was filed at 12:30pm.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After first half of the trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,746 points, advancing 20 points or 0.35 percent at 12:30pm.
The two other indices also maintained the upward trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips rose 5.0 points or 0.23 percent to reach at 2110 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 3.85 points or 0.29 percent to reach at 1,314 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 6.22 billion, when the report was filed at 12:30pm.
Regent Textile was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 299 million changing hands, followed by Argon Denims BDT 246 million, LankaBangla BDT 207 million, Lafarge Surma BDT 200 million and Fu-Wang Food BDT 197 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 175 advanced, 101 declined and 51 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 44 points to stand at 10,761 points, also at 12:30pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 118 gained, 78 declined and 29 issues remained unchanged with BDT 281 million in turnover.
