Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks kept its upward trend at midday on Tuesday as optimistic investors continued their buying spree on sector specific stocks amid post-Eid expectation.
Analysts said as pre-Eid sale pressure faded away, the optimistic investors took position on sector specific large-cap stocks amid post-Eid expectation.
Only two trading sessions are left before Eid vacation.
Following the previous day’s marginal gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid increased turnover.
Within first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 25 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 22 points at 10:30am.
After first hour of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,511 points, advancing 32 per cent while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 40 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of the trading, DSEX went up by 37 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city’s bourse rose 48 points when the report was filing at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After first half of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,516 points, advancing 37 points or 0.67 percent at 12 noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips rose 13 points or 0.63 percent to reach at 2046 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 8.88 points or 0.70 percent to reach at 1,271 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.63 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Regent Textile led the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 154 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Aamra Technologies BDT 110 million, Nurani Dyeing BDT 102 million, LankaBangla Finance BDT 79 million and National Tubes BDT 71 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 202 advanced, 49 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 48 points to stand at 10,317 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 122 gained, 44 declined and 21 issues remained unchanged with BDT 162 million in turnover.
