Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks turned flat at midday on Tuesday as investors were active on both sides of trading fence.
After the premier bourse’s key index hitting new high in the previous day, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 10 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 14 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX rose 25 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 23 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE fell 1.91 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 6.90 points when the report was filed at 12:30pm.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After first half of the trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,825 points, losing 1.91 points or 0.03 percent at 12:30pm.
However, two other indices stayed positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 0.81 points or 0.03 percent to reach at 2123 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 1.29 points or 0.09 percent to reach at 1,321 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 7.57 billion, when the report was filed at 12:30pm.
Beximnco was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 369 million changing hands, closely followed by Keya Cosmetics BDT 357 million, Islami Bank BDT 340 million, Agni Systems BDT 264 million and City Bank BDT 181 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 112 advanced, 172 declined and 41 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
However, the port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) stayed positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 6.90 points to stand at 10,924 points, also at 12:30pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 79 gained, 123 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with BDT 413 million in turnover.
