Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks turned mixed trend at midday on Tuesday as cautious investors are booking profit on quick-gaining stocks.

After facing marginal correction in the previous day, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened higher amid rising trading activities.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 21 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 15 points at 10:45am.

Since then it started to slow down. After 30 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced 2.21 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 6.48 points at 11:00am.

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the advanced only 1.56 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse fell 4.10 points when the report was filed at 12noon.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,153 points, advancing 1.56 points or 0.02 percent at 12noon.

However, the two other indices saw negative trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips fell 3.41 points or 0.15 percent to reach at 2205 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 0.61 points or 0.04 percent to reach at 1,371 points.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 5.95 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.

LankaBangla Finance was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 272 million changing hands, closely followed MJL Bangladesh BDT 206 million, FAS Finance BDT 176 million, National Bank BDT 78 million and BBS Cables BDT 77 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 157 advanced, 110 declined and 48 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:

However, the port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – losing 4.10 points to stand at 11,528 points, also at 12noon.

Of the issues traded till then, 92 gained, 56 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged with BDT 158 in turnover.
