Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks turned mixed trend at midday on Sunday as investors are active on both sides of trading fences.

Following the previous session’s sharp decline, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on higher note amid rising trading activities.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 20 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 10 points at 10:45am.

After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX gained more than 26 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 13 points at 11:00am.

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced nearly 2.0 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index lost 20 points at 12noon when the report was filed.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,700 points, advancing 1.95 points or 0.03 percent at 12noon.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 1.31 points or 0.10 percent to stand at 1,320 points till then.

However, DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also fell 2.20 points or 0.10 percent to reach at 2,126 points till then.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.42 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.

Beximco was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 139 million changing hands, closely followed by Western Marine Shipyard BDT 132 million, Monno Ceramic MDT 79 million, JMI Syringe BDT 77 million, and United Power BDT 65 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 193 advanced, 73 declined and 54 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:

However, the port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw downward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – losing 20 points to stand at 17,575 points, also at 12noon.

The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also lost 13 points to reach at 10,626 points till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 101 gained, 46 declined and 22 issues remained unchanged with BDT 96 million in turnover.
