Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh’s stocks turned in the positive trend at midday on Thursday as some investors are active on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s marginal gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened on positive note while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend amid low trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 7.0 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse fell 3.0 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX fell 0.64 point while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse shed 0.48 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 28 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 68 points at 12:00 noon, when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,304 points, advancing 28.25 points or 0.53 percent at 12:00 noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 5.94 points to reach at 1,877 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 9.40 points to stand at 1,227 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.80 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Khulna Power was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 150 million changing hands, closely followed by LankaBangla Finance BDT 84 million, Delta Life Insurance BDT 73 million, National Tubes BDT 57 million and Active Fine Chemicals BDT 55 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 174 advanced, 89 declined and 44 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city’s bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse–advancing 64 points to stand at 16,280 points, also at 12:00 noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 38 points to reach at 9,864 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 77 gained, 57 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged with BDT 82 million in turnover.
