Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks turned into positive trend at midday on Wednesday as optimistic investors are active on sector-wise stocks.

Following the previous day’s mild correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw positive trend while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend in early trading sluggish trading activities.

Within first hour of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 2.43 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse fell 10.48 points at 11:30am.

After first two hours of trading, DSEX advanced nearly 15 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 5.60 points at 12:30 pm when the report was filed.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,793, advancing 15 points or 0.25 percent at 12:30pm.

The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 6.36 points or 0.29 percent to reach at 2,182 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 2.72 points or 0.20 percent to stand at 1,358 points.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.70 billion, when the report was filed at 12:30 pm.

Beximco was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 232 million changing hands, followed by Al-Arafah Islami Bank BDT 92 million, United Power BDT 76 million, Usmania Glass BDT 75 million and Alif Industries BDT 63 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 154 advanced, 111 declined and 63 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:

The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advancing 5.60 points to stand at 17,855 points, also at 12:30pm.

The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 3.06 points to reach at 10,790 points till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 57 gained, 69 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged with BDT 112 million in turnover.
