Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upward trend in early hours of trading on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 18.43 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 4,503.33 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips gained 5.84 points or 0.35 percent to reach at 1,655.51 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 4.95 points or 0.48 percent to stands at 1,024.43 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 560 million when the report was filed at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 120 advanced, 50 declined and 34 issues remain unchanged.
GP was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 54 million changing hands till then followed by AL-Haj Textile, MJL BD, Shahjibazar Power and Beximco.
The port city bourse – the CSE also saw positive trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – gained 20.43 points to stand at 8,513.76 points, also at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 46 gained, 20 declined and 17 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 34.55 million.
