Bangladesh’s stocks witness mix trend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed negative trend while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in the early hours on Monday amid nationwide hartal.

The benchmark Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 8.48 points or 0.21 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,927.47 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 55 advanced, 85 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at only BDT 235 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Summit Purbanchol Power topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 44 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, opened with a positive trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE gained 22 points or 0.29 per cent to stand at 7,613 points also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 30 advanced, 27 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
