Bangladesh’s stocks witness volatility at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Share prices at the country’s two bourses--- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw a mixed trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday.

The DSE general index, DGEN went up 5 points within 20 minutes, but next 10 minutes it declines 7 points to stand at 4,294 points. Of the issues traded till then, 74 advanced, 76 declined and 35 remained unchanged.

Turnover was also slow and stood at BDT 587 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Summit Purbanchol Power topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 77 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange key index, CSCX also lost 17 points to stand at 8,394 points also at 11am. Of the issues traded then, 31 advanced, 44 declined and 12 remained unchanged till then.
