Bangladesh’s stocks witness volatility at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks saw choppy trading in early hour of trading on Thursday, the last trading session of the week.
The benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) went up by only 0.41 points to reach at 4,527.82 points, after first 30 minutes of trade, when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 1.27 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 1,747.35 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 0.11 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 1,104.29 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 556 million when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded till then, 90 advanced, 78 declined and 40 issues remained unchanged.
United Airways was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 35 million changing hands followed by BSRM, Familytex, Al-haj Textile and Saif Powertec.
The port city bourse – the CSE also saw volatility in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gained 8.92 points to stand at 8,477.93 points, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 45 gained, 34 declined and 16 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 43 million.
