Sylhet, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Posts and Telecommunications Minister of Bangladesh, Abdul Latif Siddique, will be removed from cabinet and Awami League post for making derogatory comments on Hajj, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.
The Bangladesh prime minister said this while talking to the party members at the VIP lounge of Osmani International Airport in Sylhet Thursday morning after returning home from London concluding a ten-day visit to USA and UK.
No official statement was issued so far announcing the removal of the minister from the cabinet and party, the ruling Awami League.
The minister is a presidium member of the Awami League.
Earlier on September 28, Siddique made derogatory comments on Hajj, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Tablighi Jamaat while addressing a reception arranged by the Tangail expatriates in New York.
The PM went to USA on September 22 to attend the 69th UN General Assembly in the USA.
