Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks kept the early hour’s upward momentum with increased participation on Tuesday as enthusiastic investors remained active on sector specific stocks.
The market opened with an optimistic note in the morning, gaining more than 12 points to reach at 4,954 points within first 15 minutes of trading.
After 30 minutes of trading it reached at 4,960 points, adding nearly 19 points or 0.38 per cent amid strong trading activities.
The market sentiments remained high after nearly two hours of trading amid increased participation from investors.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange, Bangladesh’s prime bourse opened higher in the morning, advancing 12.60 points or 0.25 percent to stand at 4,954.25 points within first 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
After 30 minutes of trading, DSEX, the benchmark index DSE went up by 18.80 points or 0.38 per cent to stand at 4,960.45 points.
After nearly two hours of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, reached at 4,966.85 points, soaring 25.20 points or 0.51 percent at 12:20pm.
The two other indices also maintained the upward trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 11.15 points or 0.62 percent to reach at 1,807.98 points at 12:20pm.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also rose 5.95 points or 0.51 percent to reach at 1,173.22 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 4.74 billion when the report was filed at 12:20pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 163 advanced, 105 declined and 47 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor riding on Beximco and Olympic Accessories.
Beximco topped the DSE turnover chart with shares worth BDT 247 million changing hands till then, followed by Olympic Accessories BDT 164 million, Bangladesh Building Systems BDT 153 million, Keya Cosmetics BDT 131 million and CMC Kamal BDT 113 million.

The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also maintained the upward trend after two hours of trading as its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 40.33 points to stand at 9256.71 points, also at 12:20pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 109 gained, 67 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged with BDT 367 million in turnover.
