Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Banglalink has announced that it has reached the twenty-five million subscriber base, further strengthening its position as the country’s second largest mobile operator.
The milestone has been reached in a little more than seven years of operation, which represents an incredible achievement, and provides testimony to the company’s rapid expansion that has made it into one of the largest mobile operators in the country.
On this occasion, Mohamed Osman, CFO of Banglalink said: “Orascom Telecom came to Bangladesh with the objective of becoming a major force in the market, and this is exactly what has been achieved in such a short period of time. Our slogan is “making a difference” and we strive very hard to live up to this in everything we do. The fact that twenty-five million customers have shown confidence in us shows that we have been able to live up to their expectations.”
Banglalink accomplished a solid growth in its subscriber base by adding 4.43 million new subscribers in the year 2011. By April 2012, by adding another 1.26 million new subscribers, Banglalink has reached the 25 million subscribers mark.
