Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bank Asia Limited brings AlertPay, an Online Payment Gateway Service Provider (OPGSP), for the first time, in Bangladesh for freelancers and IT experts to get money smoothly from abroad against service exports. 
Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Atiur Rahman launched the product formally at a function held at a local hotel in the capital Dhaka on Thursday. Bank Asia Chairman A Rouf Chowdhury was present as special guest. 
The private commercial bank also launched another product, Express Cash, with a vision to create technology-driven branchless banking through mobile, laptop, PC and POS, and thus address the needs of the unbanked population by means of domestic remittance. 
The ‘Express Cash’, title of Mobile Banking program of Bank Asia, was launched by Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman receiving an amount of Tk.5000.00 at the end of Jessore Branch of Jagoroni Chakra Foundation which was sent by Bank Asia Chairman A Rouf Chowdhury from his North South Seed Ltd account in Gazipur Branch.
Besides, the Governor introduced the AlertPay service in Bangladesh by switching on the program. At first Mr. Imran Ahmed, a software exporter received US$ 125 in his account with Bank Asia Paltan Branch from his own E-wallet account where the importer made payment against the service. 
Earlier, there was no formal mechanism in Bangladesh to get such type of online cash payment from E-wallet account.
Opening the AlertPay product the central bank governor informed initially the transaction limit through Online Payment Getway Service Provider (OPGSP) has been set upto $500 but we will consider extension of the limit based on actual flow of income. 
He also hoped that another product of Bank Asia ‘Express Cash’ will help people anywhere in the country transaction of their cash, and they will receive SMS notification and money receipt instantly as evidence.
