Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bank Asia Limited has launched three new products to bring the country’s un-banked population under the banking service.

Marking its 12th founding anniversary, the bank launched the services at a ‘Meet the Press’ program arranged at a city hotel on Sunday.

The new products are: Virtual Card, SME Credit Card and Smart Junior Saver.

‘Smart Junior Saver’, a school banking product, offered the guardians of under 18-year aged students to operate a saving account under ‘Mudaraba’ on behalf of their children with income sharing ratio 70:30 between the accountholder and the bank.

In case of death of any account holder’s guardian, under the new service, the bank will provide financial assistance to the ill-fated children to continue their study till SSC or HCS on condition of their good results.

The bank will also provide attractive prizes to the students for their brilliant results, encouraging them to study seriously and attentively.

‘Virtual Card’ is not any physical plastic card rather a ‘card number, security code and expiry date’, by which a cardholder can pay fee of application, registration, admission, membership and examination like TOEFL and SAT in any prestigious foreign educational institution through internet.

President and Managing Director (MD) of the bank Mehmood Husain, its Deputy Managing Directors Itreza Reza Chowdhury, Aminul Islam, SM Khorshed Alam and Mohammed Roshangir, among others, were present at the program.
