Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Branches of different commercial banks will remain open at customs stations in Dhaka, Chittagong and Benapole on July 25, 26 and 28 before Eid-ul-Fitr festival, officials said.

 

The banks have been advised to take necessary measures to facilitate operation of their concerned branches, they added.

 

The central bank has already issued a circular in this connection and the banks for taking necessary measures to keep open the branches during the period under review to facilitate the country’s foreign trade.    

 

It mentioned that at the request of BGMEA, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has taken a decision to keep open its customs stations at Dhaka, Chittagong, Benapole and ICD Kamalapur in Dhaka on July 25, 26 and 27.

 

“Therefore, for the sake of continuation of the export business of the apparel industries, the concerned branches of the scheduled banks will remain open on these days,” a senior official of the Bangladesh Bank (BB) explained.
