'Banking Fair Bangladesh is maiden in South Asia'

Bangladesh Bank (BB) along with other banks and financial intuitions is organizing “Banking Fair Bangladesh 2015” for the first time in South Asia.
The central bank of Bangladesh has been implementing necessary measures for bringing in the unbanked people-the majority of the population under financial services for poverty reduction, besides fulfilling its mandated responsibilities with the objective of making the economic growth pro-poor and sustainable, and reaching its benefit to the mass people of the lower pyramid.
The BB as the country's central bank has been working very proactively keeping the inflation rate moderate, maintaining the macroeconomic stability and steady economic growth, preserving discipline in the financial sector and weathering the external and internal shocks in sync with the national development strategy with a view to maintaining sustainable economic development, utilizing the advanced technology and achieving higher economic growth.
The central bank has formed a team to monitor its activities headed by the Chief Economist of BB, Dr. Biru Paksha Paul as instructed by honorable governor, Dr. Atiur Rahman to successfully arrange the fair. It is another new initiative of “Central Bank Governor of the Year 2015 for Asia”, the honorable governor of Bangladesh Bank, Dr. Atiur Rahman to reach out financial inclusion concept to all.
The fair will definitely create awareness among the people about the country’s banking sector under the direct leadership of the leader of Asia.
