Last updated: March 21, 2013
Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The central bank of Bangladesh has asked the commercial banks to establish daycare centres for the children of their female employees.
The Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular in this connection on Wednesday and asked the chief executives of all the banks to prepare a policy with the approval of the board of directors of the banks.

A good number of employees of the banking sector are female. They are contributing much to the socio-economic development of the country. The efficiency of female employees is related with care and security of their children, the central bank said.
It said the International Labour Organisation (ILO) has given importance to providing proper child care to the employees irrespective of gender by the organisations concerned free of cost or at their level best.
