Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The central bank of Bangladesh has asked the commercial banks in 36 districts to keep open their branches on Saturday to facilitate submission of nomination papers for the upcoming Union Parishad (UP) elections.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular on Thursday in this connection and asked the chief executive officers (CEOs) and managing directors of the banks concerned to take necessary steps to this effect.

“The bank branches will only receive nomination paper submission fees from the aspirant candidates,” a senior BB official explained.

The banks have also been advised to provide logical remuneration and perks to the officers and employees of the banks in line with the existing rules and regulations.
