Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The net profits of British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company (BATBC) grew by 23.62 per cent in the first nine months ((Jan’14 to Sep’14) compared to the same period last year, said an office disclosure on Monday.

The company reported net profit after tax was BDT 4,256.25 million with EPS of BDT 70.94 for the period of nine months (Jan’14 to Sep’14) ended on 30.09.2014 as against BDT 3,443.07 million and BDT 57.38 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

As per un-audited quarterly accounts for the 3rd quarter ended on 30th September 2014 (July’14 to Sep’14), the company has reported net profit after tax of BDT. 1,383.98 million with EPS of BDT. 23.07 as against BDT 1,379.74 million and BDT 23.00 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

The company listed in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in 1977. The company belong to the A category under the Food & Allied sector.

Of the total share, 72.91 percent held by sponsor-director, 0.64 percent held by government, 13.61 percent institutions and 12.84 percent held by public.

The company disbursed 620 percent cash dividend for the year 2013.
