Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– SK Sur Chowdhury, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) has been honored with Integrated Crop Management (ICM) Award -2016 for his outstanding contribution in banking and agricultural sector.
Senior central banker Mr. Sur Chowdhury also the chairman of Asia Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA).

The APRACA has been involved in the promotion of rural and agricultural development and facilitation of exchange of information and expertise in rural and agricultural finance in the region since it was established in October 1977.

It’s representing 70 member institutions from 21 countries in Asia and the Pacific since its inception and the growth and development of APRACA certainly is the result of active cooperation and unsparing support of the member institutions throughout these years.

Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah, MP, handed over the award as Chief Guest at a function organized by Manohar ICM Farmers’ Club of Rangpur at its premises in the city on Friday last.

Mr. Nirmal Chandra Bhakta, Executive Director of BB and Mr. Md. Khurshid Alam, General Manager of Rangpur office received the award on behalf of the Deputy Governor.

Local business leaders, bankers, Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi, eminent educationist and mass people were present at the event.

Manohar ICM Farmers’ Club has been working in agriculture, socio-economic development, cultural activities of the country’s northern region through contributing in welfare of marginal and poor farmers for last seven years.
