BB DG Kazi Sayedur Rahman Resigns In Face of Protest

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor (DG-1) Kazi Sayedur Rahman resigned today in the face of the demonstrations carried out by the officials and employees of the central bank.

Sources said, a section of Bangladesh Bank officials and employees begin the demonstrations on the bank’s premises since the morning demanding resignations of its high-ups and at one stage they forced the DG-1 to tender his resignation.

It is not confirmed whether the governor, three other DGs and the head of the BFIU have resigned.

The demonstrations were continued when the reports was filed around 12noon.
