Moulvibazar, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Atiur Rahman on Saturday called upon the banks, financial institutions and business organizations to come forward to help conserve the wildlife.
He made the call while addressing a program organized by Wildlife Conservation Foundation at Lauachhara Forest in Srimongal upazila Saturday morning.
Dr. Atiur, who released some wild animals in the forest at the program, called upon the authorities concerned for taking steps for saving the biodiversity and conserving historic establishments.
Later, the central bank chief attended a function organized by the National Bank Limited (NBL) for disbursement of loan among Monipuri women entrepreneurs of 
Sylhet and Moulvibazar. 
The BB governor disbursed BDT 4800,000 loans among 116 women entrepreneurs on behalf of the bank. “The creative women entrepreneurs of the Monipuri community will specially be benefited with this loan,” the central bank governor said.
Dr. Atiur also spoke at a bankers-entrepreneurs opinion-exchange meeting at Moulvibazar Government High School auditorium organized by Moulvibazar Bank Officers’ Club with Bangladesh Bank general manager (Sylhet branch) Sultan Ahmed in the chair. 
Speaking at the function, the BB governor said 55 percent of the country’s total population is still out of banking facilities. “This portion of the population needs to be brought under the banking facility net,” he noted.
