Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman visited the Banking Fair Bangladesh-2015 Friday afternoon.
He reached fair ground around 4:30pm and paid visit to different commercial banks and non-banking financial institution’s (NBFIs) stalls.
The BB chief also paid a whirlwind visit to the press centre of the fair and asked the welfare of journalists.
Senior BB officials including AFM Asaduzzaman, General Manager of Bangladesh Bank (BB), accompanied the governor during his visit.
Mr Asaduzzaman, also assistant spokesperson of the central bank, earlier on the day said the closing session of the fair will be held Saturday evening on Bangla Academy ground where the five-day long fair is going on from November 24.
Dr MA Razzak MP, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on finance will present as chief guest at the closing session while BB governor will attend the programme as special guest.
SK Sur Chowdhury, deputy governor of the BB, will preside over the session where senior bankers, economist and policymakers are expected to present.
Earlier on Tuesday, BB Governor Dr Rahman inaugurated the banking fair aiming to build a banking nation through boosting the ongoing financial inclusion campaign in Bangladesh.
