Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh Bank (BB) has introduced new software to monitor the overall export process in the country aiming to expedite export proceeds realization through strengthening monitoring.
BB Governor Atiur Rahman inaugurated the software ‘EXP Online Monitoring System’ at a function at its conference hall on Thursday. The software was in place on experimental basis from November 1 last year.
Two major objectives of the new system are to receive export information from banks in a web based environment through a series of check points and analyse data to monitor the overall export process in the country.
“The monitoring of export activities has become effective and faster with the introduction of the system. Both the exporters and authorized dealers will be benefited from the new system,” the central bank chief said while inaugurating the new system.
He said the new system would also help cut banks’ working hours and cost to a large extent.
Among others, Deputy Governor of the BB Nazneen Sultana, Executive Director of the central bank M Ahsan Ullah and Chairman of the Association of Bankers’, Bangladesh (ABB) Nurul Amin also spoke on the occasion.
