Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The central bank of Bangladesh is releasing new currency notes worth BDT 160 billion on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The central bank has started releasing the notes a few days back. It has become a tradition to release new notes on the occasion of Eid,” a senior official of the Bangladesh Bank (BB) told the BBN in Dhaka.

He also said the amount includes notes (worth BDT 40 billion) with the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The central bank is releasing the new notes of the denomination of BDT 2.0, BDT 5.0, BDT 10, BDT 20, BDT 50, BDT 100, BDT 500 and BDT 1000 on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
