BB takes initiatives to check fake notes before Eid

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The central bank of Bangladesh has taken a number of cautionary measures to check the spread of fake notes in markets for sacrificial animals before the Eid-ul-Azha.

Under the measures, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) asked the authorities of city corporations, municipalities and upazila administrations to extend their support to the central bank and law enforcing agencies to check counterfeit notes in the ‘hut’ for sacrificial animals.

Already, the central bank instructed its branches in divisional and district headquarters to take effective measures to check fake notes and create public awareness to prevent such illegal activities.
