Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh Bank (BB) has decided to donate BDT 5.0 million to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for buying medical equipment for its burn unit.
The decision has been taken considering the country’s recent situation, the central bank said.
The assistance would be given in favour of the banking sector to establish a separate unit with a capacity of 100-bed, three burn tanks and other medical equipment.
The BB also decided to manage donation from the financial institutions under their corporate social responsibility programmes to establish the proposed burn institute.
Over the last 20 days of blockade imposed by the BNP-led 20-party alliance, above 100 general people sustained burn injuries in bomb attacks in the capital as well as elsewhere in the country.
